Privacy policy

How we process personal data when you visit raunic.no, chat with us or get in touch.

This is a translation. In case of discrepancies, the Norwegian version applies.

1. Who is responsible

Raunic AS (org. no. 937 829 000), Neseveien 54B, 4514 Mandal, Norway, is the controller for the personal data described here. For privacy questions, contact us at post@raunic.no or +47 966 27 770.

This policy covers raunic.no. Firmadatabasen.no has its own privacy policy.

2. In short

  • raunic.no uses no cookies, no visitor analytics and no third-party tracking.
  • Fonts, images and the film are served from our own server.
  • The chat is answered by an AI assistant. Messages are processed by the AI provider Anthropic in the USA.
  • We never sell personal data, and we don't use it for advertising.

3. When you visit raunic.no

The website is hosted by Vercel. Like any website, the server receives technical information about each request, such as IP address, browser type and time. This is used only to deliver the page and protect it against abuse, and is kept briefly in operational logs. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a secure website (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)).

We set no cookies and use no analytics tools on raunic.no. Links to Facebook, YouTube and X are plain links: nothing is loaded from these services until you click through, and then their privacy policies apply.

4. When you use the chat

The chat in the bottom right corner is loaded from our own system, Raunic OS (os.raunic.no). It is answered instantly by an AI assistant. A person at Raunic follows up on enquiries that need it.

  • What we process: what you write in the chat, and your name, email or phone number if you provide them.
  • Purpose: to answer you, follow up on your enquiry and, where relevant, make you an offer.
  • AI: messages are sent to Anthropic (Claude), which generates the reply. Anthropic does not use the messages to train its models. Processing currently takes place in the USA (see section 7).
  • Bot check: the chat uses Cloudflare Turnstile to stop spam. Turnstile processes, among other things, your IP address and technical information about your browser.
  • Legal basis: our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)), and steps prior to a possible contract (Art. 6(1)(b)).

Please don't share sensitive information, such as health data, national ID numbers or card numbers, in the chat.

5. When you contact us by email or phone

Emails and what you tell us are used to answer you and follow up. Email is handled in Google Workspace with storage in the EU. The legal basis is the same as for the chat.

6. How long we keep data

  • Enquiries via chat and email: deleted no later than 12 months after the last contact, unless a customer relationship follows.
  • Customer relationships: for as long as the agreement lasts. Accounting records are kept for 5 years under the Norwegian Bookkeeping Act.
  • Website operational logs: briefly, according to the provider's standard.

7. Who we use, and transfers outside the EEA

We use the following providers (processors). They have data processing agreements with us and may only process data on our instructions.

  • Vercel: hosting of the website and the chat. US company.
  • Supabase: database for enquiries. Storage in the EU (Sweden).
  • Anthropic: the AI model that answers the chat. USA.
  • Cloudflare: bot check (Turnstile) in the chat. US company.
  • Twilio SendGrid: sending email from Raunic OS. USA.
  • Upstash: rate limiting against abuse. Storage in the EU (Germany).
  • Google Workspace: email. Storage in the EU.

Where data is processed in the USA, this is based on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) and/or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework. We are working on moving the AI processing to the EU and will update this policy when that is done.

8. Automated decisions

The AI assistant answers questions and sorts enquiries, but makes no decisions that have legal effects for you or similarly significantly affect you.

9. Your rights

You have the right to access the data we hold about you, and to have it corrected or deleted. You can also ask us to restrict processing, object to it, and receive data you have given us (data portability). Email post@raunic.no and we will respond within 30 days.

If you believe we process data in breach of the rules, you can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet.

10. Changes

We update this policy when we change how we process personal data. The date at the top shows when it was last changed.
